John's an excellent writer with strong interpersonal and analytical skills. He has a track record of success in working with CEOs (and other C-suite executives) on strategic messaging, speech writing, preparation of talking points, multimedia presentations and media training/coaching.

John has directed public relations for:

• Three large school districts in Illinois

• Tribune Company (when it was a publicly traded Fortune 500 company)

• Lake County, Illinois government

• A $3 billion regional community bank in Central Illinois

• The Illinois Association of School Boards

He is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), a professional association of about 21,000 members. He was elected to the PRSA College of Fellows comprised of about 350 senior practitioners and educators, each of whom has left a significant footprint on the public relations profession. Election to the College is considered the pinnacle of a PR professional’s career.

 

John graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and has taken Master’s level public relations courses through Illinois State University. He is:

• President of the Central Illinois Chapter of PRSA

• Past President of the Suburban Chicago Chapter of PRSA (from which he received a Lifetime Achievement award)

• Past President of the Illinois Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA)

• Past Regional Vice President of NSPRA representing eight states and the District of Columbia.
